Summer plans don’t need to derail your fitness goals…

Things are about to get crazy.

I can already feel it.

Kids are finishing up school.

Camps are about to start.

Summer vacations are coming.

Aside from a couple of weekends, I’m pretty sure I’m booked until Labor Day!

And I’m sure that some random things will pop up along the way.

But it doesn’t need to ruin your fitness goals.

Or undo all of the progress you’ve made.

Here are 4 tips to help you stay on track.

1. Walk.

A lot!

I am a HUGE advocate for walking.

It’s changed my life in so many positive ways.

Getting extra steps in is also one of the best ways to lose weight and burn fat.

Take advantage of the summer days and nights and get as many extra steps in as you can.

2. Water.

It’s very easy to become dehydrated in the summer.

In fact, 75% of people are chronically dehydrated at all times of the year.

And one of the side effects of being dehydrated is a false sense of hunger.

You’ll be surprised at how much better your feel, and have less cravings, by being sure you are properly hydrated.

Aim for half of your body weight (lbs) in ounces of water.

A good water hack to get more each day is to add BCAAs or EAAs to your water once a day.

3. Protein First.

Without protein, you WILL be hungry.

So eat it first and eat it often when you are out.

If you are traveling grab a protein bar or some jerky instead of a bag of chips.

4. Keep Training.

Consistency is the best way to get in shape and stay fit.

Your routine may change over the summer, but aim for 3 workouts each week.

Doesn’t matter what days you get them in, just get them in when you can.

Do these 4 things and you will look and feel amazing this summer!
